Message from the artist Lauren Rogers
I’m honoured to share that my latest artwork, Harmony of Country: A Path to Peace, will be gifted to the Balinese people for the opening of the Bali Peace Park. This piece holds deep meaning as it commemorates those who lost their lives in the Bali bombings and honours the enduring spirit of peace and unity.
I painted this artwork as a gift to the Balinese people, and Dallas Jackson will deliver it on behalf of Australia. Peace Park serves as a place of reflection, healing, and remembrance for the victims of the tragedy, connecting communities from across the globe.
The flowing blue lines in this artwork represent life-giving waters, much like the compassion that binds us together. The circular motifs symbolise gathering places, and Sky Country, and the earthy tones is Country, to evoke the rich history and wisdom of the land. It reminds us of our responsibility to care for the earth and each other.
I hope this artwork brings comfort and symbolises resilience, peace, and hope for the future.
